  7. COSORT is a high-speed, general purpose sort/merge facility for large DP
  8. operations and for applications with special input, compare, or output
  9. requirements.  COSORT sorts many times faster than the SCO UNIX sort.  Library
  10. routines link to C, COBOL, FORTRAN, and other calling programs.  An
  11. English-language standalone program offers easy-to-use interactive execution
  12. (help and shell access) or silent batch operation.  A mainframe syntax
  13. provides extensive selection and reformatting.  A robust system sort
  14. replacement is included.  COSORT accepts stdin and any number of files and
  15. records, fixed or variable length to 32,768 bytes.  Any number and type of
  16. character and binary keys can be defined in fixed or floating fields.
  17. COSORT's unique coroutine architecture lets users meet any input selection,
  18. compare, and output criteria to control record flow in their language and
  19. program.  Records can pass one at a time in memory to eliminate intermediate
  20. I/O operations.  System tuning/multidrive work space allocation facilities,
  21. and now multithreading, are available for optimized efficiency.
